Off we go!
It's taken me a few months longer than I wanted it to, but we're finally up and running with a website. There is still a lot of work I want to do it with it, and areas I want to grow and develop, but it's a start!
For those who aren't familiar with me, my name is Emily Hosker-Thornhill. I'm a distance athlete for Great Britain, and have represented my country at cross country and track events, such as World Cross country championships, European cross, and European Team championships. I've been lucky enough to travel all over the world for my running and race in some fantastic places such as California, Oregon, Uganda, Bydgoszcz, Spain, Sardinia, Belgium, Denmark to name a few. It's been an amazing experience, and a real privilege.
It hasn't been an easy journey making these teams and travelling around the world racing. Unlike most, I didn't make a team until I was 24, when I got my first ever England vest. That same season I also made my first GB team for European cross country champs.
However, my nutrition journey is a lot more straight forward. I did my undergraduate degree in Nutrition, and a masters in Sports Nutrition. All this together with my running, has helped me really understand how athletes work, what nutrition can work for them, what nutrients we need most, how to recover adequately and everything else in between.
Hopefully soon I'll be working with some of you for some sports performance nutrition help. But if not, have a browse on the website for some recipe ideas and meal planning ideas. I've tried to include recipes that are easy, nourishing, good for performance and recovery. I'll be adding more each week so bear with me if there aren't many at the start.
